Nashville pizza! You must be kidding! Well… I'm not!
Nashville is known for its vibrant music scene and Southern charm, but it also boasts an impressive array of pizza joints. Whether you’re a fan of classic New York-style slices or innovative gourmet creations, Music City has something to satisfy every pizza lover.
Now, I’m not saying Nashville is an iconic pizza town (not yet!) like NYC, Chicago or Detroit but I am saying the pie in Nashville is holding it’s own!
Of course, you can ask 10 different people what is the best in Nashville and you will get 10 different answers! Here are some of my favorites.
FIVE POINTS PIZZA
This is our favorite! We have eaten here many times and it never disappoints! With two locations in Nashville, Five Points Pizza is a local favorite known for its New York-style pies and craft beers. The garlic knots are a must-try, and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual night out.
SLIM & HUSKY'S
This hip-hop-inspired pizzeria offers artisan pies with locally sourced ingredients. Founded by three Nashville natives, Slim & Husky’s is not just about great pizza but also about community and culture.
MELLOW MUSHROOM
Situated on Broadway, Mellow Mushroom offers creatively inspired stone-baked pizzas, wings, and fresh salads. The live music and vibrant atmosphere make it a great spot to hang out.
DESANO'S
For an authentic Neapolitan pizza experience, DeSano Pizza Bakery is the place to go. Their Margherita pizza, made with mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes, is a flavor explosion!
EMMY SQUARED
Known for its Detroit-style pizza, Emmy Squared offers a unique twist with its crispy, cheesy crust.
TAILGATE BREWERY
TailGate Brewery on Music Row combines great pizza with a fantastic selection of craft beers. It’s a perfect spot for pizza lovers who also appreciate a good brew. And a great place to watch sports!
BELLA NAPOLI PIZZERIA
Nestled in the Edgehill neighborhood, Bella Napoli is a short walk from The Kottage and offers a cozy ambiance and delicious Italian-style pizzas. The service is friendly, and the pizza is consistently good.
NICKY'S COAL FIRED
This spot is known for its coal-fired pizzas, which have a distinct, smoky flavor. Nicky’s also offers great deals on slices during their family nights.
CITY HOUSE
Located in the Germantown area of Nashville, this James Beard award winner adds southern flair to rustic Italian fare! An impressive list of Italian wines as well!
PINKY RING PIZZA
Offering New York-style pizza with vegan options, Pinky Ring Pizza is a hit among both vegans and non-vegans alike.
PORTA VIA RISTORANTE
Located in Belle Meade, Porta Via is the only pizzeria in the state of Tennessee certified by Naples’s Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana (VPN), which means the restaurant adheres to strict rules about ingredients and traditional preparations to produce “real Neapolitan pizza."
DICEY'S TAVERN
Serving tavern-style Chicago pizza which highlights a thin crust and square slices. Not as well known as the deep dish but just as tasty!
ROBERTA'S
Located in the Urban Cowboy Public House in East Nashville, it's worth the trip to enjoy a slice (or two!) of the Bee Sting — a sweet and spicy number with soppressata, mozzarella, chile, honey, and basil. Roberta's also has an impressive array of traditional pies as well.
